Commission To Consider Final Approval Of Liquor Sales Guidelines
During a meeting of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Commissioners set for this Thursday, the panel will consider final passage of the guidelines under which liquor will be sold within the city limits.
Ordinance 1021, which will establish guidelines for the sale of “alcoholic beverages other than beer,” appears on the commission’s agenda for second and final reading. The commission must establish sales guidelines since city voters approved the sale of alcoholic beverages during a referendum vote last month.
Other business slated to come before the board is Ordinance 1022, which would amend the existing municipal code regarding “refuse and trash disposal.” The ordinance is scheduled to be heard on first reading.
The sole resolution appearing on the agenda is to authorize the city to enter into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Military Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.”
In addition, Chester Darden with the Tennessee Municipal League will address the commission regarding city liability.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will get underway at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, inside the commission meeting room of the Lawrenceburg City Administration Building on West Gaines Street.
